WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM CHIROPRACTIC?

Those of any age can enjoy the benefit of chiropractic care. Whether it would be to help posture, relieve pain, reduce stiffness, prevent injuries or limit progressive degenerative changes. Chiropractors can also help breathing issues, upper and lower limb problems (e.g. knees, shoulders, ankles, wrists and elbows…)

Trauma can occur at birth, when a child is learning to walk or ride a bike and through other childhood activities. At the other end of the age scale, restoring better joint function can improve mobility, vitality, endurance and appetite without drugs and their side effects.

WHO ARE CHIROPRACTORS?

Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustment of the vertebrae of the spine and other joints of the body.

They are highly qualified and trained professionals who study full time at university for a minimum of five years.

Chiropractors are the superiorly placed spinal health experts with medical equivalence in basic sciences.

Chiropractic adjustments not only restore proper movement to the spine but also enhance nervous system function, which is key to your overall health. By relieving pain and helping your joints, muscles, and ligaments function optimally, adjustments support faster recovery and improve your ability to enjoy everyday activities. Additionally, a well-functioning nervous system contributes to better mental clarity, reduced stress, and improved physical well-being, helping you feel your best both mentally and physically.

WHAT IS A CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT?

The objective of a chiropractic adjustment is to restore, maintain and improve health and wellbeing. Chiropractors use skill, not force or strength to conduct safe, effective adjustments. A force is applied to a fixated or “locked up” joint in a precise direction. This can release a gas bubble within the joint making a popping sound, which people associate with a “crack” sound. And best of all, in most cases, chiropractic adjustments don’t hurt at all, and most people find it very relaxing.

DO CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS HURT?

In most cases, not at all. Many people actually find adjustments to be quite relaxing. Chiropractors use a variety of gentle techniques, from handheld instruments to pelvic blocks, to realign the body. Special methods are also used for infants and children. Regardless of the approach, chiropractors rely on skill rather than force to ensure adjustments are both safe and effective.

ARE CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS SAFE?

Yes. A New Zealand government inquiry found that chiropractic care is “remarkably safe”. By using a conservative approach and avoiding drugs and surgery, chiropractic care enjoys an excellent track record. In fact, studies have shown that a course of chiropractic care was 250 times safer than a course of anti-inflammatory drugs.

ARE ALL CHIROPRACTORS TREATING THE SAME WAY?

No, at Remedy Chiropractic, Dr Alan Singh is biomechanical based practitioner and use mainly “diversified” method of adjusting. He, when necessary, incorporates soft tissue technique in his treatment. He is also from sporting backgrounds and has a great understanding of Human Body Movement.

WHY YOUR BACK HEALTH IS IMPORTANT?

Your nervous system is your body’s information highway and is protected by the spine.

The nervous system travels out between the vertebrae or joints of the spine to carry messages from the brain to every corner of your body.

Stress and strain on the vertebrae can put pressure on the nerves in the affected area. That is why a problem with your spine can have far-reaching effects causing symptoms such as arm or leg pain.

IS CHIROPRACTIC ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITH BACK PAIN?

No, Chiropractors treat problem of the spine and nervous system. Whilst most patients we see in our clinic are treated for back and/or neck pain, tension headaches, migraines, lots of patients report that they can manage better a range of other health conditions when their spine and muscle system is relaxed and working well. This includes better breathing, increase of flexibility, decrease of fatigue, reduction of tingling/numbness and better sleeping habits.

WHEN TO CONSIDER CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

If aching joints and muscle pain are affecting your ability to get through the day and keeping you away from your favorite activities, consider chiropractic care.

Work, accidents, sports injuries, household chores, even the stress of daily living can cause painful joint and back problems.

Even if you do not have painful symptoms, chiropractic care can help you maintain healthy spine and joint function.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED WHEN I AM ACUTE ( IN PAIN)?

The number of treatments required for each person depends on such thing as:

·      Injury severity

·      Length of time the person had the injury

·      Level of degeneration or boy damage in the spine or joints

·      Extent or spread of nerve and muscle damage

·      If there are different levels of damage

·      Level of fitness and age of the person

·      Person’s weight and smoking habits

·      The person body’s healing rate and sensitivity to any type of treatment (some people tolerate a lot more being done during one visit)

A general guide for people looking for some level of pain relief is about 6-12 visits over a month. If there is absolutely no change to a person’s level of pain or activity after a month, a re-assessment or second opinion is needed. The person might be sent to have more examination done or sent to another specialist.

FOR HOW LONG WILL I NEED CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

The duration of your chiropractic care is entirely your choice. Spinal issues that have been present since childhood may need ongoing support for optimal function, especially when associated with muscle weakness, soft tissue damage, or spinal degeneration.

Many patients choose periodic chiropractic checkups to stay at their best. If you lead an active lifestyle, have a demanding job, or simply want to maintain peak health, regular preventative visits can be beneficial.

Others prefer chiropractic care only when discomfort becomes unbearable. While this reactive approach may involve more time and cost, chiropractors are here to support you no matter your health goals.

Ultimately, how long you continue with chiropractic care is up to you. We’re here to help, whenever you need it.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?

If you’re new to Chiropractic care, you’ll want to know what type of result you can expect.

Individual experience varies from person to person, but most people can expect some benefits soon after beginning care and for these to consolidate further as therapy continues.

Statistically too, research shows that Chiropractic care is more effective and economical and also gives longer lasting results for disorders of the spine than other forms of health care.     1. 2. 3.
